The OK Percussion Duo was inspired by Safri Duo\u2019s version, which is written for the identical part of marimba and one percussion player, whose part has been reduced from the three original parts. Eventually, the OK Percussion Duo chose a much more difficult approach: using the original version, but with a single percussion player assisted by the marimba player, which requires the simultaneous interpretation of three complete parts. The original version for solo marimba and three accompanying percussionists thus becomes a dialogue between two entirely equal entities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><div class=\"fusion-sep-clear\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-separator sep-shadow\" style=\"border-color:#c9c9c9;margin-top:10px;margin-bottom:5px;width:100%;\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Franti\u0161ek Emmert: Inno Chana (dress rehearsal for the first performance \u2013 with composer) \u2013 <em>dedicated to the duo<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><div class=\"fusion-one-half one_half fusion-column\"><div class=\"fusion-youtube\" style=\"max-width:600px;max-height:350px;\"><div class=\"video-shortcode\"><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Af2gydurx8U?wmode=transparent\" width=\"600\" height=\"350\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><div class=\"fusion-one-half one_half fusion-column last\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">One of the commissioned pieces written for the OK Percussion Duo is a chamber oratorio, <b><i>Inno Chana<\/i><\/b>\u00a0(2012), by composer <b>Franti\u0161ek Gregor Emmert <\/b>(*1940). The composer gained inspiration for this work in the Old Testament (Book of Samuel).\u00a0 The piece contains seven movements with the central focus on the marimba. This unique \u00a0work features up to 21 different percussion insturments.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><div class=\"fusion-sep-clear\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-separator sep-shadow\" style=\"border-color:#c9c9c9;margin-top:10px;margin-bottom:5px;width:100%;\"><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Pavel Blatn\u00fd: Uno pezzo per due (excerpt) \u2013 <em>dedicated to the duo<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><div class=\"fusion-one-half one_half fusion-column\"><div class=\"fusion-youtube\" style=\"max-width:438px;max-height:252px;\"><div class=\"video-shortcode\"><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/j4OMRmDqRx4?wmode=transparent\" width=\"438\" height=\"252\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><div class=\"fusion-one-half one_half fusion-column last\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Pavel Blatn\u00fd<\/strong> (b. 1931) is the leading Czech representative of the Third Stream music.
